Speaker

Douglas Hamilton(BDS LLM MJDF Dental Advisor, MDDUS) qualified at Glasgow University in 1989. He worked in general practice, mainly NHS but with experience of private dentistry, until 2013. He obtained a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Law at Dundee University in 2009 and joined the MDDUS as a Dental Advisor later that year.

Course Outline:

    • Reducing the risk of complaints
    • Appropriate management of complaints
    • Possible consequences of unresolved complaints

Course aims

To understand the means by which complaints might be avoided, managed and resolved.

Anticipated Learning Outcomes:

  • Delegates will have a better understanding of complaint management
  • Delegates will have a better understanding of the GDC Standards relating to complaints
  • Delegates will have a better understanding of the role of the DCS, SPSO and the GDC
